Dan Morlan is passionate about helping people to not only recover from injury, but transform their lives through the pursuit of an active lifestyle. His physical therapy specialties include soccer, running, golf, baseball, basketball and tennis with special training in functional rehabilitation and treating neurological components of orthopedic injuries.

MELISSA MORLAN

PHYSICAL THERAPIST/CO-FOUNDER

Melissa co-founded Active Edge Physical Therapy under the vision of empowering patients to take an active role in health and prevention of future injury. Her athletic background includes competing as a member of her college crew team and completing 15 marathons as a competitive distance runner. A graduate of Regis University in Denver, Melissa holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and competed her Stott Pilates training in 2010. She applies this training to her passion for treating hip and low back/sacral injuries, specializing in runners and pregnant women. She loves partnering with patients wishing to regain or expand their ability to live active, healthy lives.

Kelsey likes working with individuals looking to improve their speed, mobility or coordination on the playing field, especially tennis, basketball and softball/baseball athletes. Additionally, she enjoys helping individuals who may be past their competitive sports days, but are looking for a way to get back into an active, healthy lifestyle.

Rachel graduated from Northern Arizona University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has a variety of personal experience with various methods of fitness including CrossFit, yoga, Olympic lifting, running and sports including soccer, track and cross-country. Rachel is passionate about educating her patients to promote self-care, injury prevention and a healthy, capable lifestyle. She specializes in functional rehabilitation centered around manual therapy with the integration of specifically tailored therapeutic exercise. It is of utmost importance to her to help her patients return to their desired level of function.

MATTHEW “Matty” YAVORSKY

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Matty earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in Saint Louis. He enjoys treating people from all walks of life, whether you are returning to sport, recovering from injury, or re-learning how to walk. Matty’s utilizes his experiences in hiking, backpacking, and sport, along with his training in the treatment of movement system impairments, to help you optimize function and achieve your goals.

LANCE NELSON

Lance graduated from Regis University in Denver, Colorado with his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. As a member of the 2004 Linfield College DIII National Championship football team and a sprinter on the track team, Lance brings his experience as an athlete to athletes of all ages. Lance’s passions include helping patients recover from total joint replacements, treating the “aging athlete” and helping people return to the activities they love. Lance prides himself on building a strong rapport with his patients while always keeping their individual functional goals as his top priority. In his free time, Lance enjoys attending Blazers games, hiking, fishing, cycling, and anything outdoors.

RUTH M. BLAKE

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Ruth earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University. As a physical therapist, she works with her patients to improve quality of life through increased function and reduced pain ​to help patients return to the those activities they enjoy following an injury or surgery. With a background as a former ballet dancer, Ruth specializes in dance rehabilitation and works with dancers of all levels and disciplines. She understands the unique demands on a dancer’s body and the athletic drive of dancers striving to perform at their highest level. Other areas of experience include working with individuals post-stroke, with vertigo/balance issues and other neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease.

John graduated from Portland State University with B.S. degrees in Exercise Science and Teacher Education. He continued through graduate school and earned a M.S.T. in Exercise Science and Sports Studies. After graduating John taught weight-training and golf classes.

WILLEE BROBERG

WELLNESS COORDINATOR/PERSONAL TRAINER & RUNNING COACH

Willee has extensive certifications and is certified in personal training with specialty training in special populations, running and functional strength. She has experience working with a variety of ages, fitness levels and sports specific individuals. She uses a variety of strategies and coaching techniques founded in research and experience based methods that are effective, efficient and individually based. Partnering, encouraging and listening with individuals, she helps prepare the individual to successfully meet their goals. She believes in a balanced approach which reflects realistic and priority driven goals. After graduating from college and starting a family Willee began competition in triathlons and running races.

Zach is a certified personal trainer and physical therapy aide. He is currently a third year student at Portland State and is majoring in health sciences with a pre-physical therapy track. In high school, Zach participated in baseball and cross country. He also has significant experience with Olympic lifting, running, and triathlons. Zach enjoys working with athletes and employs different exercise techniques to help them accomplish their fitness goals.

Michael Hargitt is an ACE certified Personal Trainer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Pacific University. Michael has experience with a variety of ages and has worked with many local athletic teams. He likes to keep his workouts simple, fun, educational, and progressive. His specialties include: HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), Sport Specific Training, Long Term Weight Loss, Body weight exercise and High Volume Lifting.

PERSONAL TRAINER/PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE

Ben Trussell is an ACE certified Personal Trainer with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Oregon State University. Ben specializes in working with individuals from all types of background, age groups, and fitness levels. As a trainer, Ben excels at creating sport-specific workout plans for athletes, improving functional movement, and instructing High Intensity Interval Training + Core/Mobility classes. As a Physical Therapy aide Ben enjoys helping patients improve their health and independence through recovery-specific therapeutic exercise. Ben is excited to pursue his passion in exercise science and physiology and is applying to Doctorate of Physical Therapy programs around the nation.

Becca is a certified athletic trainer who splits her time providing sports medicine services to the athletes of West Linn High School and working as an aide at ActiveEdge. She has worked with a variety of elite athletes, including the men’s and women’s US National Speedskating Teams.

Bryce is a certified Athletic Trainer, who splits his time between Active Edge while providing sports medicine coverage to all of the Wilsonville High School athletics programs. Bryce specializes in acute injury evaluations, trauma care, therapeutic rehabilitation, sports performance training, Motus and kinesio taping techniques along with venue specific emergency action planning. He has worked with and provided coverage to a variety of elite athletes and events ranging from USA Track & Field Olympic Trials, Rugby, professional Rodeo along with many others.

Brynelle is a Certified Athletic Trainer who works at ActiveEdge Wellness Center as both an athletic trainer and a physical therapy aid. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from George Fox University. As a fellow athlete herself, she is passionate about working with athletes at various levels and helping them to excel in their performance both on and off the field.

Olivia earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Linfield College in Exercise Science. After working as a Physical Therapy Aide at Active Edge, she decided to pursue her Master’s Degree. Olivia Graduated from Washington State University with her Master’s in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Exercise Physiology. She began her career working in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab as both an Exercise Physiologist and Dietitian. She is now actively pursuing her dream of owning and operating her own nutrition consulting business through the help of ActiveEdge Co-founders/owners Dan and Melissa Morlan. Olivia enjoys working with people of all ages and walks of life. Her passion lies in helping others – helping to build and/or maintain a healthy relationship with food and exercise; helping to cater nutrition to support specific sports performance goals; helping to aid in weight loss or weight gain goals; or helping others find a way of eating that is weight neutral, just to name a few.
